🤎 Health Tea - 5 of the Best Teas You Should Be Drinking
Here is a list of my favorite healthiest teas to drink. They all have beneficial properties for the body, some for the gut health, stabilizing blood sugar levels, and even helping support natural detoxification in the liver.
☕️ 1. Black Tea
Is black tea healthy to drink everyday? Black herbal blend has a strong, distinctive flavor and can be enjoyed hot or cold, and you can drink with or without milk. I am here to answer the question, is tea healthier than coffee? Black is one of the best health blends you can drink.
Coffee has been known to have some significant health benefits, but herbal blends are also loaded with amazing health benefits. Well, there are two main reasons why black tea is so good for you, and why I included it in my top healthy blends list.
First, it keeps you hydrated and protects against the harmful effects of dehydration. Second, it contains high levels of flavan-3-ols (a group of powerful phytonutrients also referred to as catechins or flavanols).
You can also find flavon-3-ols in apples and grapes. Studies have indicated the flavan-3-ols in tea, especially in black and green herbal blends, improved serum lipid levels, blood glucose, blood pressure, and even helped lower cardiovascular disease incidence and deaths associated with heart disease (1).
There are various kinds of black blends available. I personally love English breakfast tea first thing in the morning. English breakfast tea is actually a nice blend of Kenyan, Assam, and Ceylon blends of black herbal blends. Other types of black herbal blends include Earl Grey, Darjeeling, and Masala Chai.
🫚 2. Ginger
Ginger blend is a herbal infusion that uses the power of ginger to boost your health. It has a warm, spicy flavor and is a fine choice if you want to clear your throat. Since it contains ginger, this herbal infusion has no flavan-3-ols, but does supply your body with lots of copper, magnesium, manganese, potassium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C.
🍵 3. Green Tea
Green tea is probably the most popular tea in health and fitness circles. It is regularly praised for its strong antioxidant content and its cancer-fighting properties, which makes it one of the healthiest teas to drink. Try my green matcha tea recipe.
Green Tea Is Loaded With Health Benefits
It has a light, earthy taste, which is both unique and refreshing. Like black, green is hydrating and is also packed full of flavan-3-ols. Read more about green herbal blends health benefits here:
♥️ 4. Rooibos
I love this herbal blend. Rooibos blend is a popular antioxidant-rich blend that may protect liver health. In addition, rooibos is a herbal infusion that tastes like black tea, but is slightly sweeter.
🤍 5. White Tea
White is a lesser-known blend slowly gaining popularity in the Western world. It has a mild but fruity flavor and is a satisfying alternative to green.

White tea comes from the same plant as black and green, and contains the highest concentration of flavan-3-ols of all three. This makes white blend in the top five healthy teas to drink.

🩺 Rooibos Tea Health Benefits & Properties
There are many rooibos health benefits for the body. The active ingredient in rooibos might be one of the flavonoids it contains, which has been linked to lowering blood pressure and relaxing tense muscles.
Unlike green or black, rooibos does not contain any caffeine, so it's safe to drink well into the evening. Rooibos contains zero calories, and due to this, it’s a fine choice just before bed, because it won't spike your blood sugar levels.
In terms of nutrition, rooibos contains considerable amounts of flavan-3-ols, phenolic compounds, and the antioxidants aspalathin and nothofagin.
I love to prepare an iced rooibos blend. I share a quick recipe below that you can also freeze into delicious ice pops.
👩⚕️ Key Benefits of Drinking Healthy Teas
So drink these five healthiest teas regularly, and you can enjoy various health benefits. Which include cancer prevention, enhanced energy levels, a healthy heart, reduced stress levels, stronger bones and teeth, and much more. So get the kettle on, brew up, and start hydrating with healthy teas today.
❓ Are Loaded Teas Healthy?
First, let me explain what a "loaded tea" actually is. Herbalife has popularized loaded blends. Loaded herbal blends are herbal ones combined with some form of additive supplement to boost the benefits. Those benefits can range from hunger suppression, better mental clarity, metabolism boost, and energy performance enhancements.
Loaded are usually sugar-free, with either coconut water, aloe, and even collagen water as the base. So, first off, they sound like the popular energy drinks with a cool marketing spin, promoting herbal blends as the hot new health drink. The above ingredients, like aloe, collagen, and coconut water, are actually some healthy things to add, but there are some ingredients to be wary of.
Loaded Teas and Stimulants
In theory, these loaded blends sound amazing, but I caution against the ones meant to boost your energy or metabolism if they contain any stimulants, such as caffeine extracts, powders, guarana and even ginseng.
Those ingredients can have serious side effects, such as increased blood pressure, rapid heart rate, cardiovascular damage, and even mess with your hormones. I always advise clients to avoid these ingredients.
There are so many other natural ways to increase your energy levels without stimulants. It's always best to look at your lifestyle, eating patterns, and stress levels to figure out what could be affecting your dip in energy levels.
Check out my recipe for the healthiest iced blend, loaded with good for you ingredients without Herbalife's additives that they promote.

Iced Raspberry Rooibos Healthy Tea Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- 4 Rooibos Vitality Elixir tea
- 4 cups water (One cup boiled, 3 cold)
- 1 ยฝ cup raspberries
- 5 tablespoon lemon, juice
- 4 tablespoon sugar, coconut
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 handful mint leaves, fresh
- handful Ice
Instructions
- Boil one cup of water and pour over the tea bags. Allow to steep for 4-5 minutes. Set aside and allow to cool.
- In the meantime, combine the raspberries, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sugar in a medium-sized saucepan. Stirring constantly, mix for 3 minutes.
- Over a large mixing bowl, strain the mixture through a fine meshed sieve to remove the tiny seeds. Smash the mixture to help separate the seeds from the pulp.
- In a pitcher, add a handful or two of ice. Pour in the tea mixture, which was set aside earlier. Add in the remaining 3 cups of cold water, raspberry mixture, and fresh mint. Stir to combine.
- Serve immediately or keep refrigerated. Garnish with extra fresh mint, raspberries, and lemon slices.
- I love to use the brand Pique for their Rooibos Vitality Elixir. If you use this Rooibos elixir, there is no need to boil the water. Simply add 4 Rooibos Vitality Elixirs into 4 cups of cold water. Then combine the raspberry mixture into the cold water. It can't get any easier than that. I love Pique because the taste is superior to any other brands I have tried out there.
- You can also make ice pops. Simply freeze the mixture into ice pop molds, and you have a delicious treat. You can also try replacing half the water with milk of choice, and you freeze those as pops too.
