My favorite kind of healthy smoothie is blueberry and spinach, so this blueberry & banana smoothie made with hemp seeds is my ideal morning smoothie recipe. If you haven't tried hemp seeds before in a smoothie, you are missing out because you can add extra protein, fiber, and fat to add in without much effort.

Blueberry Smoothie Ingredients
You only need a few simple ingredients to make the best tasting blueberry & banana smoothie recipe. I like to keep these key ingredients in my pantry and refrigerator at all times
- Blueberries: Packed with fiber and rich anthocyanins, and vitamins C and K.
- Bananas: Rich in prebiotic and inulin fiber, great for gut health.
- Flax Seeds: Also, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and helps balance hormones.
- Spinach: Blueberry banana spinach smoothie packed with the mineral iron to produce hemoglobin, which carries oxygen from the lungs to other parts of your body. Also, it is necessary to make hormones, like erythroferrone and hepcidin. Iron increases the erythroferrone, while simultaneously suppressing hepcidin, which allows more iron to be readily available for red blood-cell production (1,2).
- Chocolate Protein Powder: Protein packed chocolate, what more can you ask for?
- Milk of Choice: I prefer non-dairy milk and use unsweetened almond milk in this smoothie recipe.
See recipe card below for quantities.

Hint: I like to use my Eat Your Nutrition chocolate protein powder because of the quality of the vegan ingredients.
Top tip
Using frozen blueberries is the key to getting an extra thick smoothie. Frozen fruit not only makes your drinks cold, but allows the liquid used to thicken up into a creamier, thicker consistency.
