Yes, of course. If all you have are almonds, or walnuts, try substituting those instead. However, to get that authentic butter pecan flavor, use pecans in this recipe.

The steps to make the fudge are as follows:
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor, blender, or even as I did with an immersion blender in a bowl. I found this to be easiest, especially in terms of clean up.
One bowl to clean before you transfer to a silicone mold and enjoy. No cooking required. Simply add to a baking dish sprayed with coconut oil, or silicone mold. Sprinkle additional pecans over the top.
Freeze for at least 3 hours and enjoy. The recipe needs to be set up for at least three hours before being eaten. Fudge is best consumed at room temperature, though, so be sure to take it out a few minutes before you want to eat it.
Butter Pecan Fudge Recipe
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Setting Time: At least 3 hours.
Servings: 12 one-inch slices, or 24 bite-sized pieces.
BUTTER PECAN FUDGE INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups almond butter
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- ½ cup coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon butter extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup coconut cream
- ½ cup pecans (divided)
- Pinch of sea salt
- ½ cup cream cheese of choice (I used vegan cream cheese)
DIRECTIONS:
- Mix all the ingredients in a high-powered blender, food processor, or in a glass bowl with an immersion blender. Be sure to reserve half of the pecans for topping at the end.
- Line a 1 pound loaf pan with either parchment paper or cling wrap. Spray with coconut oil. You can also use a silicone loaf pan. I also spray the silicone loaf pan with coconut oil spray to ensure the fudge doesn't stick.
- Spread the prepared fudge mixture into the loaf pan and flatten out the top with a spatula. Top with the rest of the pecans. Gently use the spatula to press the pecans slightly into the fudge mixture.
- Place the loaf pan into the freezer for at least 3 hours. This step is key, or the fudge will not be solid enough to cut into slices.
- Once you are ready to serve, take out for about 5 minutes and enjoy.
Recipe FAQ & Notes:
STORAGE TIPS
How Long Does This Fudge Last in the Freezer?
The fudge will last for a few months in the freezer. I advise storing in the freezer, because the fudge will start to get mushy if you store in the refrigerator. Take out of the freezer 5 minutes before eating, and you will be astounded by how creamy this fudge is.
What's the Best Way to Store Fudge?
After slicing the fudge into bite-sized fudge pieces, store them inside an airtight container with pieces of parchment paper to prevent them from sticking.
Can I Make Substitutions For the Best Healthy Fudge Recipe?
I don't advise changing this recipe, because it's perfect as is. However, if you want to use regular cream cheese, this works well too. Also, you can swap out the coconut cream for heavy whipping cream or half and half. This will change the nutritional content, but the flavor will be similar to my recipe.
You can also swap out the maple syrup for honey if you are not following a vegan diet or simply prefer honey. I would definitely keep the butter and vanilla extract in the recipe. This is the key to getting that butter pecan flavor.
Can I Use a Different Nut Butter in This Fall Fudge Recipe?
ALMOND BUTTER VERSUS CASHEW BUTTER
You can certainly use cashew butter or even peanut butter, however the flavor will change a bit. The cashew butter is a perfect neutral tasting option. However, I prefer the almond butter for the nutrient profile and higher protein content.
Almonds not only contain more protein and fiber, but also have a higher value of vitamin B2 and potassium. I also love that almonds are rich in calcium and manganese. Cashews, however, are richer in iron, zinc, copper, and phosphorus. Calcium in almonds is important for maintaining healthy bones.
