To make this healthy chicken fajita recipe, you will simply need to gather a few key ingredients that will create a high protein dish.
- Chicken Breast - I recommend using skinless, boneless chicken breasts. a great source of protein, but rich in vitamins and minerals. Iron, B vitamins, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, and selenium. Chicken is also a great source of B vitamins, which help in energy production, as well as help form red blood cells in the body.
- Gluten-Free Tamari Sauce - This is a sauce similar to soy or teriyaki sauce.
- Bell Peppers - I like the red bell peppers because they are the sweetest. As bell peppers ripen, they change color, and the green tends to be a bit more bitter.
- Yogurt of Choice - I used plain almond milk yogurt, but Greek yogurt works well in this recipe too.
- Fresh Dill - This adds a fresh brightness to the yogurt sauce.
- Gluten-Free Tortillas - Any brand of gluten-free tortillas will work well. If you want to change things up, try my recipe for plantain tortilla wraps.
- Olive Oil - This is a great neutral flavored oil. You can also use avocado oil.
- Onion - I like to use a red onion, but a white onion is perfect too.

Easy Chicken Fajitas with Garlic Yogurt Sauce (30 Minute Meal)
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 ยฝ pounds chicken, breast (Skinless & boneless)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup yogurt of choice (Unsweetened)
- 1 bell pepper, red (Thinly sliced)
- 1 cloves garlic, fresh
- 1 medium onion, red (Thinly sliced)
- ยผ cup tamari, gluten-free (Can use gluten-free soy sauce)
- 1-2 tablespoon dill, fresh
- 1 Pinch sea salt
- 1 Pinch black pepper, ground (To taste)
- 4 tortillas, gluten-free (To taste)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breast in thin slices, and marinate in soy sauce, salt and pepper.
- Remove the seeds from the bell pepper. Then cut in half into thin strips.
- Peel the onion, cut it in half, and then cut into thin slices.
- Add olive oil to the hot pan, then put the chicken and veggies in. Distribute evenly and cover with a lid. Cook for 15 minutes on medium high heat.
- To make the sauce, peel one clove of garlic, and crush it. Then cut into small pieces. Put the garlic in olive oil, mix with a pinch of salt.
- Add in yogurt and combine. Finally, cut some fresh dill to taste and add to sauce.
- Finally, serve the chicken and veggies with an option to top the warmed gluten-free tortilla. Top with sauce and enjoy.
