❓ Does Gingerbread Seasoning Spice Mix Contain Nutmeg?
You betcha it does. Gingerbread spice mix usually contains ground ginger and some recipes for gingerbread will have fresh ginger added to the recipes.
🥣 What is Gingerbread Spice Mix Made With?
Gingerbread spice is a blend of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice. It's usually mixed together to make gingerbread cookies or cakes.
❓ Why is Gingerbread Flavor So Good?
Gingerbread is a holiday wintertime favorite. It's sweet, spicy, and just plain delicious. But seriously, what makes this treat so darn good? Let's explore the spices that gingerbread spice usually contains.
Ginger is a key ingredient in this recipe, adding its distinctive flavor and aroma. Ginger has been used for medicinal purposes by many cultures since ancient times.
In the west, it's been used to help with nausea and morning sickness in pregnant women. I chose to use a fresh ginger rather than ginger spice in this recipe.
Nutmeg and cinnamon are also key ingredients in a traditional gingerbread spice mix recipe. Cloves are added for their strong, spicy flavor.

🍐 Pear Health & Beauty Benefits
There are many types of pears, ranging from Bartlett, Bosc, and Anjou, but my personal favorite is Chinese pears.
Chinese pears have higher water content, and I love the crisp, refreshing taste of them over other pears. Did you know that pears also have some outstanding health benefits too?
Pears are filled with carotenoids, flavonoids, and anthocyanins, which translate into many health and beauty benefits for you.

They also contain vitamin C and potassium, both excellent sources of vitamins that help keep our immune system strong. Pears are also a great source of folate, vitamin A, copper, niacin and manganese.
Pears Promote Great Gut Health
Did you know that pears are great to promote gut health?
They are known to have high levels of fiber, which is important for proper digestion. In addition, are a wonderful source of insoluble and soluble fiber to ensure excellent digestive health.
I always talk about the importance of increasing your fiber intake, because it will drastically impact the overall health of your gut.
One pear contains 6 grams of fiber. By following a fiber-rich diet, you help stabilize your blood sugar levels. This is especially important to help keep you full longer. Increased fiber intake will help avoid those hunger pains.
Vitamin C helps fight free radicals. This vitamin is also important for helping repair tissue, which is especially important when it comes to protecting your skin from wrinkles.
Vitamin A is also an important nutrient that is excellent for the skin, hair, and nails. Pears contain moderate amounts of vitamin A, so your skin will benefit from regular eating pears.
This delicious fruit also contains manganese, magnesium, copper, calcium, and phosphorus, all important minerals that help keep your bones strong. Pears also contain vitamin K, which studies indicate is an important nutrient in our bone health.
I also have a fan favorite vegan green smoothie recipe made with pears. My good morning green smoothie recipe can be found here.
I think you will love this pear spice smoothie for breakfast on a chilly winter morning. But if you are looking for another delicious holiday smoothie recipe, try my easy healthy frosted sugar cookie protein smoothie.
