Balanced Berry Bowl - Simple Blood Sugar Support Snack
I have been super busy lately. Running my nutrition business, getting things ready for my upcoming move, creating new nutrition and healthy balanced recipes, and staying active through gentle movement. It can be too easy to get so focused on a task. I have to remember to eat to balance my blood sugar. This is where simple, balanced healthy snacks come in.
Lately, my go-to healthy, well balanced snacks are balanced berry bowls filled with lactose-free cottage cheese, blackberries, hemp hearts, chia seeds, and walnuts. Drizzled with maple syrup for extra sweetness. It's such a simple and nutritionally sound snack.
Cottage cheese is often an underrated food, but it's loaded with protein. Top it with any berries you love, some nuts and seeds, and BAM - you now have protein, carbs, healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants. The perfect easy snack without much effort, so now I can get back to packing up my house and organizing everything for a smooth transitional move.
So, try this easy blood sugar supportive, well balanced snack today. No lower energy afternoon slumps.
- 1 cup of cottage cheese (I use lactose-free)
- ¼ cup berries of choice (I love blackberries)
- 1 tablespoon nuts of choice (I chose walnuts)
- 1 tablespoon seeds of choice (hemp hearts & chia seeds are my favorite)
- Drizzle of maple syrup (optional)
