Well, just like the name states, it's made with espresso shots, brown sugar, and oat milk. But my version of brown sugar espresso recipe from Starbucks is actually really simple, but much healthier.
I love that Starbucks offers dairy-free milk options besides the original soy milk. Starbucks truly has come a long way and listened to their customers by offering other nutrition vegan-friendly options.
What I love more than anything is that you can make this delicious recipe right at home and save time and money. That's a win-win.
But you also get to make a healthier version of this brown sugar oat milk latte from Starbucks, with lower sugar and only 60 calories. Definitely pleased about that. There is also no sacrifice with taste. It tastes exactly the same. It's refreshing on a hot summer day.

Starbucks Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso Recipe
Equipment

- 1 tablespoon sugar, brown
- 2 shots espresso coffee, brewed (SEE NOTES For how to make without machine)
- ยผ teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 cup milk of choice (I used Planet Oat Milk, unsweetened with 0 grams of sugar)
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- If you haven't brewed your espresso, first do that. If you don't have an espresso machine, see the notes below the recipe for tips on how to make it without a machine.
- Add all the ingredients except the milk to a mason jar and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Remove the lid and top off with your favorite milk.
- Serve and enjoy.

If you don't have an espresso machine at home, you can use instant coffee with hot water. Check out the information on how to make espresso without an espresso machine below.
I also don't have a traditional espresso machine. However, I did buy the Keurig K-Cafe machine, which has an espresso button to use your favorite K-cup to make an espresso without a traditional machine. I personally love this gadget so much.
👩🍳How to Make Espresso Without Machine?
So, what if you don't have an espresso machine at home, but still want to make this brown sugar espresso recipe or any other espresso drink?
Well, I got you covered. Simply boil 1 ounce of water and mix in 2 teaspoons of instant coffee for each espresso shot you want to add. How simple is that? If you need the metric conversion, that is 30 mL and 11.8 grams.

How to make each espresso shot without a machine, use this ratio of hot water and instant coffee:
US: 1 ounce of water: 2 teaspoons of instant coffee
Metric: 30 mL of water: 11.8 grams of instant coffee
