There’s nothing better than drinking a hot cup of peppermint tea after a rich meal to help promote digestion. When I feel bloated and uncomfortable, tea is the first thing I reach for. Whether it’s fresh herbs or dried, it brings an instant sense of relief and comfort. That is why I am sharing my favorite teas for healthy digestion. The amazing digestion benefits and yummy taste of peppermint tea are why I love to drink this in the evening after a healthy dinner meal.

At the end of this article, you will find my delicious PLN tea recipe. This is a delicious blend of the best peppermint tea, mixed with licorice and nettles for bloating and digestion. It is simply the best digestive tea for help when you suffer from digestion health issues.
Peppermint Tea Health Benefits
Peppermint tea is my go-to remedy for upset stomach, gas, bloating, or simply helping the digestive process along. It provides quick refreshing relief and it’s tasty too. I also like to blend peppermint with other less yummy tasting herbs to make them go down easier.
One thing that really affects gut health negatively is stress. Because when you’re stressed all of your inner resources get diverted to deal with the lingering “threat” whether it’s real or perceived. This doesn’t leave much energy for the digestive process and can lead to serious issues. That is why I love have peppermint to relax me.
Licorice Root Tea Health Benefits
When I’m feeling stressed out or anxious I reach for licorice root. Licorice root tea helps calm the nervous system while promoting healthy digestion. It’s naturally sweet and I find a cup of licorice tea after dinner gets rid of my craving for a chocolatey dessert (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I’ve used licorice to reduce heartburn and it’s very soothing for the stomach and intestinal lining irritation.
Nettle Tea Health Benefits
Nettle tea is a deep green tea made from stinging nettle leaves. It’s high in magnesium, which can help relax the muscles in the colon and make for easier elimination. Nettle is high in nearly every mineral and chlorophyll, which helps with detoxification.
I like to blend my nettle leaves with peppermint and licorice for a triple power tea that meets all my digestive needs. The licorice adds sweetness, while the mint detracts from the grassy-tasting nettle. It’s a lovely blend. It tastes great in my PLN tea recipe below.
