Acne can be a terrible experience for most people, regardless of the age. The misconception from people who have not had severe acne is that it is only a visible issue. The truth is, severe acne can be very painful and cause pain in the face, or the affected area, and severe discomfort throughout the day.
If you deal with this, you may have heard that food can be medicine, but felt it would not work with acne. The truth is, it may work for you if you combine foods to make a smoothie. Here are some clear skin smoothies that can help with all aspects of your acne.

Beginner Clear Skin Smoothie
This smoothie is for people who are new to smoothies and want to start clearing their skin. It is designed to help you start a skin clearing routine that helps reduce acne and allows you to add more or less to your smoothie. It gives you the baby steps and building blocks you need all in one drink.
The smoothie is fairly easy to make. You only need 5 ingredients for this smoothie recipe. I have even had clients say they saw improvement in their skin issues within a few days.
Ingredients:
- Bananas: One frozen banana adds the perfect amount of sweetness to this recipe.
- Avocado: Why do I love avocados so much? Fiber. Avocados are a great source of fiber, higher in insoluble fiber. Increasing fiber rich foods into your diet helps support our detoxification pathways. Want clear skin? You need to support those detox pathways in our bodies. This helps clear out toxins and excess hormones quicker from our body.
- Strawberries: What is the magic component to strawberries for skin health? Ellagic acid helps promote healthy cell turnover for radiant skin. Manganese also supports mitochondrial defense. What does that mean? Mitochondria is our energy supplier to our cells. Mitochondria can deprive pathogens (viruses, bacteria) of nutrients they need to multiply and grow. By supporting our mitochondrial defense, we help keep pathogens at bay.
- Spinach: I love this anti-aging vegetable because it helps keep your skin soft, hydrated, and gives a radiant, dewy glow to your skin. Spinach is rich in iron, folate, and B vitamins. Feeling tired? Spinach is a food you should include in your meals. Think of Popeye, he loved his spinach and for good reason.
- Coconut Milk: I prefer unsweetened coconut milk, which allows you to control the sugar content.

Ingredients
- 1 Banana (Frozen)
- ½ Avocado (Peeled and pit removed)
- 1 cup Strawberries (Frozen)
- 1 ½ cups Spinach
- 1 cup Coconut Milk (Unsweetened)

Pina Colada Green Smoothie
You may not think of pina colada as a morning option, but in smoothie form they can bring you energy and reduce acne. This green smoothie requires pineapple, spinach, frozen banana, coconut flakes, coconut milk, and water.
This smoothie can help reduce acne by giving you potassium and natural coconut milk. The natural boost tends to help people reduce their need for sugars and salts, and helps remove those foods from your diet. This will curb your cravings and in effect curb the ingestion of the foods that may be causing your acne.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Pineapple
- 1 tablespoons Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
- 1 ½ cups Spinach
- 1 frozen Banana
- ¼ cup Coconut Milk (Unsweetened)

Vegetable Garden Clear Skin Smoothie
If you need a boost of vegetables in your diet, you may want to remove yourself from the fruit smoothie option and go with a vegetable clear skin smoothie instead. The vegetable garden smoothie tends to remind people of popular vegetable juices.
You can add any vegetables you want, but the most common base for these smoothies is tomato. Three tomatoes is usually a good start. At that point, you can add fresh herbs like rosemary, cilantro, and parsley. Adjust the amount of herbs based on your preference.
One cup of carrots, celery, and cucumbers, which also help boost vitamins and minerals to the body. I hope you try this vegetable smoothie to help clear your acne.

- 1 cup Mixed berries (Frozen)
- 1 cup Spinach
- ½ Avocado
